Genesis Cinemas is the leading cinema chain of West Africa with 12 locations, 47 screens and over 4,700 seats in operation across Nigeria. GC is part of the Genesis Group, a Nigerian based conglomerate established in 1991 with its key focus on hospitality and entertainment with diverse interests in Restaurants, Hotels, Industrial Catering, Cinemas, Family Entertainment Centres and Facility Management. The Genesis Cinemas Brand and company was launched into the Nigerian market in the year 2008, in Lagos. By the month of December 2011, the company had served over 15 million customers.

Genesis Cinemas, has cinemas located in Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Warri, Owerri, Abuja and Asaba. Job Position: Account Officer

Job Location: Festac, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain and monitor receivable and payable accounts.
  2. Ensuring the accuracy of financial records, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Preparation and processing of payroll for Staff salary payment
  4. Payment of PAYE and WHT deductions to LIRS, payment of pension’s regulatory contribution to pension.
  5. Determination of monthly VAT and remittance to FIRS
  6. Issuance of weekly invoices to 64 films exhibitors across the nation
  7. Follow up with film exhibitors to ensure that Producers WHT are remitted as they are deducted.
  8. Maintenance of asset registers to determine monthly depreciation.
  9. Raising of transfer instructions for authorization and bank treatment
  10. Preparation of monthly financial report.
  11. Offering guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement and profit maximization to management.
  12. Preparation of monthly Income and Financial Statement reports.
  13. Maintained monthly Deferred income and Deferred cost Schedule
  14. Keep Record of Journal entries in all transaction.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of HND / B.Sc. with at least 2 years work experience.
  2. ICAN is an added advantage.
  3. Detail-oriented, Performance-oriented, and Result-oriented.
  4. Good understanding of payables, receivables, VAT, Withholding Tax, Financial reporting and Invoicing.
  5. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting theories, principles, methods, practices, and terminology in a multidisciplinary and multi-functional environment.
  6. Intermediate Knowledge of Accounting Softwares, preferably SAGE.
  7. Intermediate knowledge of EXCEL.
  8. Multi-tasking Abilities.
