Job Position: Accountability Manager

Job Description
- We are currently looking to fill the role of Accountability Manager, who will be responsible for focus on enhancing accountability, promoting feedback and complaints mechanisms, and fostering a culture of active engagement to ensure that ACF programs and interventions meet the needs of those affected by crises while upholding ethical standards and respecting the rights of all parties involved.
Job responsibilities
- Supervise the implementation of Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) initiatives and corrective measures based on community engagement;
- Support the design of an accountability database, incorporating feedback and complaints mechanism (FCM) and safeguarding, to facilitate improved data collection and analysis;
- Collaborate with country management, human resources, and safety/security personnel to implement a risk management plan;
- Promote the adoption of FCM guidelines across all mission bases;
- Train staff and stakeholders on accountability measures and guidelines, ensuring compliance with ACF’s strategy and standards;
- Oversee operational and management aspects of accountability efforts, including work planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning;
- Ensure timely handling of complaints through the Feedback and Complaints Response Mechanism (FCRM) and provide feedback to complainants;
- Collaborate with MEAL HoD to incorporate accountability data into program proposals and reporting;
- Support to design accountability frameworks for program life cycles, ensuring alignment with ACF’s accountability pillars;
- Develop and modify accountability communications materials, providing training and support to partners and local organizations;
- Facilitate client involvement in interpreting feedback data and planning programmatic actions;
- Conduct mid-year reflection sessions to measure program improvement based on beneficiaries’ feedback;
- Implement and report on reviews, evaluations, and assessments, tracking accountability KPIs;
- Provide on-the-job training and development plans to enhance technical capacity and knowledge exchange within the mission accountability teams;
- Address staff performance issues in collaboration with MEAL HoD and Human Resources;
- Document lessons learned and best practices related to accountability and share with internal stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Social Science, Business, Administration, Statistics, Demography or related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects;
- A minimum of 5 years in Humanitarian accountability related work experience;
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken skills), Hausa will be an edge;
- Strong management, coordination, and conflict resolution skills;
- Technical advisory expertise in accountability, monitoring, and results management;
- Proficient in handling investigations and conflict situations;
- Excellent written and spoken English, adept at clear report writing;
- Advanced knowledge of international humanitarian guidelines and donor standards;
- Ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural environments;
- Strong ability to work independently and under pressure;
- Diplomacy, interpersonal skills, and strategic focus;
- Willingness to travel to remote field sites in insecure contexts.
