Job Position: Accountant
Location: Ketu, Lagos

About The Role 

The Accountant will support the bank’s financial operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal accounting standards.

The role requires hands-on experience within a microfinance or financial services environment and the ability to support audits, reconciliations, and statutory reporting effectively.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger postings.
  2. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
  3. Handle statutory remittances, including PAYE, VAT, WHT, and pensions.
  4. Support regulatory reporting in line with CBN guidelines.
  5. Perform daily and monthly bank and account reconciliations.
  6. Support internal and external audit processes.
  7. Maintain proper financial documentation and controls.
  8. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. BSc / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  2. 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a microfinance bank or financial institution.
  3. ICAN (ACA) certification required or newly chartered.
  4. Working knowledge of core banking systems (e.g., Bank-One).
  5. Strong understanding of regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
  6. Close attention to detail and integrity.
