Job Position: Accountant

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Management and reporting of financial data of the organization. To prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities.
  • To ensure compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  1. To perform general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
  2. To prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements and profit and loss statements.
  3. To maintains the general ledger.
  4. To code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts and close the monthly books.
  5. To reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits and address inquiries from banks.
  6. To reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections.
  7. To verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  8. To provide auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  9. To file required tax forms and other financial obligations.
  10. To initiate and manage accounting software used by the organization and recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
  11. Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Qualification to Degree level in a Finance related course.
  • 4 years cognate experience in finance related role.
  • Professional Qualification is an added advantage. (ICAN,CAT,ACCA)

Skills and Behaviour:

  1. Extensive knowledge of accounting procedures and regulations.
  2. Highly proficient with accounting software.
  3. Very good oral and written communication.
  4. Deep attention to details and strong analytical skills.
  5. Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
