Job Position: Accountant
Location: Warri, Delta

Job Responsibilities
General Accounting:

  1. Keep track of all payments and expenditures, purchase orders and invoices.
  2. Ensure that all purchase orders, vendor invoices obtain the required authorisation and approval in line with company policies/procedures.
  3. Manage vendors and contractors’ accounts and ensure compliance with company standard operating procedures.
  4. Oversee the prompt payment of vendors/contractors based on the Standard Operating Procedure regarding payment policy.
  5. Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information, and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
  6. Investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries.

Bookkeeping:

  1. Post accounting transactions, journal entries into the accounting system.
  2. Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger following accounting principles and reporting schedules, ensuring the company has a full and accurate statement of its financial position.
  3. Ensure the receipt of invoices, verification & record of transaction and direct expenses, ensuring it is in line with standard operating procedures.
  4. Keep records of all receipts, invoices and tax payments.
  5. Process all sales and expenses into the Accounting system/software.
  6. General ledger reconciliations.
  7. Manage all account reconciliations.

Financial and Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Direct tax-related activities follow the tax strategy to ensure the organisation meets its tax obligations and objectives.
  2. Evaluate activities, policies, practices, and transactions to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Ensure all tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports are submitted accurately and on time.
  4. Advise on the legality and tax effectiveness of current and future business activities.
  5. Prepare and submit tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports.
  6. Maintain tax records and correspond with external tax agencies or consultants.

Job Requirements

  1. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2- 3 years of experience in accounting.
  3. Proficiency in Accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
  4. Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  5. Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  7. Integrity and professionalism in handling financial data.

Salary
N70,000 per month.
