Job Position: Accountant

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Manage all accounting transaction of the company.
  2. Ensuring that all daily transaction of the company (stock transfers, purchases, expenses sales etc) are reconciled and posted in the system.
  3. Reconcile all raw materials, packaging materials issued to the factory.
  4. Prepare budget forecast implementing and monitoring of financial controls in respect of expenses, materials procurement and utilization.
  5. Preparation of monthly income statement for management use.
  6. Publish financial statement in time.
  7. Handle weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
  8. Ensure that stock taking is carried out weekly and monthly.
  9. Direct reconciliation of stock at warehouse, stores
  10. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable (customers and suppliers accounts).
  11. Ensure timely bank payments and handling of monthly bank reconciliations.
  12. Ensuring store officers update the bin cards and also post stock movements in the system.
  13. Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
  14. Generating monthly trial balance from system.
  15. Generating monthly financial statement from the system.
  16. Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
  17. Audit financial transaction and documents.
  18. Follow up and resolve audit comments and implement workable suggestion.
  19. Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  20. Reconciliation of the entire production process both local and international.
  21. Initiates payment of salaries, wages, processing and payment of all invoices and claims to supplier.
  22. Vet all sales documents (e.g. invoices, receipts) to ensure that the system is fraud free.

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree qualification with 5 – 10 years work experience.
  2. Candidates must have a hands on experience on internal control/auditing.
  3. Candidates must have worked in an FMCG company.
