Job Position: Accounting and Reporting Expert

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. Set up efficient and compliant workflows to guarantee high quality for the transactions and processes within accounting.
  2. Reporting for internal and external audiences.
  3. Perform analysis and review ledgers of financial statements.
  4. Preparation of monthly/quarterly and year end closing reports.
  5. Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing  financial business transactions.
  6. Responsible for the production of statutory and regulatory reports.
  7. Responsible for the review of accounts reconciliations.
  8. Ensure inventory and accounting review work of accounts related to technical accounting.
  9. Evaluate and allocate premium provisions, claims payable provisions and other technical provisions in accordance with local regulations.
  10. Close collaboration with the regional team.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related field.
  • Certification in ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
  • 3+ years relevant work experience.
  • Work experience in an insurance company is an added advantage.
  • Experience in GL accounting, GAAP and SAP F1 accounting systems.
  • Good knowledge of local accounting rules including Taxes.
  • Strong analytical, communication and influence skills.
