Job Position: Accounting Assistant I

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • Processes various types of accounting transactions related to customer invoices (AR) or supplier invoices and Travel & Expenses (T& E) expenses (AP)

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manages customer or supplier master data by collecting, checking and creating the data in the Information System
  2. Books transactions in Accounting / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  3. Ensures compliance with controls around the invoice accounting processes and supports audits (internal and/or external)
  4. Participates in the automation of processes related to his/her area of work Specific AP
  5. Receives invoices, verifies that match with purchase orders and receipts and manages potential gaps
  6. Applies and controls correct VAT inputs
  7. Controls Travel & Expenses requests
  8. Maintains payroll master file Specific AR:
  9. Manages cash allocation to accounts and projects
  10. Initiates and processes financial reports: Overdue invoicing and aging balance
  11. Reports customer guarantees

Job Requirements
You are meant for this job if:

  • Secondary School / High School Diploma
  • 0 to 2 years of experience of accounts receivable/ payable processing experience
  • Knowledge of accounting systems
  • Detail oriented
