Job Position: Admin / HR Manager

Job Location: Iddo, Lagos

Job Description

  • You will provide guidance on the employee lifecycle including developing training opportunities.
  • You will oversee employee benefits, payroll and performance management. Your aim will be to ensure that the organisation can meet its objectives by having the right workforce and work environment in place.

Job Responsibilities
Office Admin:

  • Orders supplies and equipment; maintains service contracts on office equipment.
  • Attends meetings and takes minutes
  • Liaises with internal and external units to carry out tasks.
  • Assists managers and supervisors in developing policies and procedures.
  • Solves problems associated with vendors regarding shipments, billing, and statements.
  • Monitors expenditures, processes payment requests for reimbursement; prepares purchase orders, purchase requisitions and ensures proper procedures for paying service providers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Receives and audits invoices for accuracy and compliance and ensures prompt payment of departmental bills.
  • Handles administrative tasks for faculty searches and staff recruiting.
  • Handles event planning for meetings, professional development, and other department initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

HR:

  • Have a clear understanding of our business objectives and be able to devise and implement policies that support them.
  • Manage the application process – write and develop job descriptions, person specifications and job adverts, check application forms, shortlist, interview, select successful candidate/s and inform unsuccessful ones
  • Appoint, develop and retain the right staff
  • Plan and sometimes deliver training, including new staff inductions
  • Deal with staff welfare and administration-centred activities
  • Advise on pay and other benefits
  • Undertake salary reviews and manage redundancy programmes
  • Carry out strategy and planning activities and develop strategies to meet immediate and long-term staff requirements

Office Administrator & HR:

  • Develop and implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
  • Advise line managers in how to implement policies and procedures
  • Liaise with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety
  • Negotiate with staff on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts and redundancy
  • Prepare staff handbooks, administer payroll and maintain employee records
  • Interpret and advise on employment law
  • Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures
  • Analyse training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • Three years of administrative support experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and phone systems
  • Scheduling experience
  • Spreadsheet experience.

  • IT and numeracy skills, with strong IT skills required if managing/operating computerised payroll and benefits systems
