Job Description
- Husk Power Systems, Nigeria is seeking a a skilled talent acquisition and management Assistant Manager to source and manage top-notch talent. In this role, you will be responsible for determining job requirements, screening candidates, and forecasting hiring needs. You may also be required to promote our company’s brand with recruitment initiatives and events.
- To ensure success in the role, you should possess extensive experience as a recruiter and the ability to attract the perfect talent for each role. Accomplished talent acquisition and management specialists are attuned to the hiring needs of their company and contribute to its success by hiring talented and reliable candidates, as well as ensuring these employees are managed for optimum productivity.
- The individual should also be passionate about contributing to solving one of Nigeria’s most critical challenges – energy access deficit. This position provides the opportunity to join a growing team that is changing the face of rural electrification in Asia and Africa – India and Nigeria.
- Reporting lines would be to the Global VP, HR and Country Head (60%/40% split). This position offers the opportunity to rise to the position of Head Employee Development + Engagement (New Initiatives) within 2-3 years to be supported by junior executives.
Job Responsibilities
General:
- Drive manpower planning and the recruiting strategy for the company; while bringing a high level of clarity surrounding hiring plans and metrics.
- Managing overall hiring process via electronic Applicant Tracking systems and in line with company recruitment policy – applications’ evaluation, candidates’ screening, pre-interview assessments, interview questions’ compilation and candidates’ interviewing.
- Build and track internship/trainee programmes with relevant schools and stakeholders, ensuring company (and relevant info) is represented at relevant recruitment events, career fairs etc
- Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Talent Acquisition:
- Liaising with internal departments to determine recruitment needs.
- Determining selection criteria, hiring profiles, and job requirements for vacant positions.
- Talent sourcing through online career portals, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms, as well as print media, posters, and flyers, when required.
Employee Onboarding and Talent Management:
- Arrange pre-employment testing, background & references screenings. Evaluation and input of our current vendors.
- Create offer letters, maintain applicant tracking system, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions as needed.
- Conduct new employee onboarding, ensuring process is engaging and that processes are followed and accurate.
Business Growth and Support:
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
- Communicate internally with hiring managers and employees regularly to promote the referral program and internal opportunities.
- Training and Development : Evolve systematic training needs identification, prepare a training calendar and events and schedule the same as per business requirements.
- Talent Retention: Design & implement various short term & long-term plans for various levels to ensure retention of critical talent and high performers.
Performance & Appraisal Management:
- Design & Create Goal Audit Framework to enable employees to create smart goals and also ensure proper alignment of individual goals with business and company goal.
- Consult business units to diagnose and improve on organizational performance issues.
- Ensure entire Organization’s KRAs & KPIs are mapped & measured for FY in alignment with the approved Annual Business Plan.
Organizational Strategy:
- Actively contribute inputs to the development of company’s Business plan, ensuring alignment with talent acquisition outlook.
- Preparing hiring forecasts as part of the company’s strategic planning.
- Contribute towards long-term organizational strategic goals, providing inputs to talent management and retention strategies.
Job Requirements
Does this sound like you?:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, or similar.
- 3-4 years of experience as a talent acquisition specialist/HR Recruiter or similar.
- Work experience in the power sector, FMCG, or consumer durable industry will be an advantage.
- Relevant HR Certification obtained would be advantageous.
- Ability to liaise with internal departments and develop hiring strategies and profiles.
- Advanced knowledge of effective hiring platforms that attract suitable applicants.
- Exceptional ability to screen candidates, compile shortlists and interview candidates.
- Experience in creating awareness of the company brand and establishing professional relationships with candidates.
- Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with industry trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Demands:
- Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Could work in outdoor weather conditions at certain times
- Have adequate visual and hearing acuity to follow instructions; and determine accuracy of the work assigned
- Ability to work in rural, peri-urban locations as required
