Job Position: Assistant Manager / Head Chef

Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Description

  1. Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, from food preparation to staff management
  2. Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of the restaurant’s guests
  3. Create and maintain a positive and productive work environment
  4. Train and supervise kitchen staff
  5. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  6. Purchase and manage food inventory
  7. Represent the restaurant at industry events
  8. Assist the Manager in developing and implementing the growth strategy of the business
  9. Train new employees on company policies, procedures, and expectations
  10. Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally
  11. Prepare weekly financial reports for directors, including analyzing revenue, expenses, and profitability
  12. Establish and maintain high standards of food preparation, sanitation, and cleanliness
  13. Create work schedules and organize staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency
  14. Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations
  15. Establish budgets for each department and monitor expenses
  16. Assist the Manager in carrying out managerial functions, such as terminations, hiring, and promotions of staff members
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  2. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field
  3. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a chef
  4. Proven experience in a supervisory or Management role
  5. Strong understanding of hospitality operations and procedures
  6. Food safety certification
  7. Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
  8. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  9. Willing to relocate or live onsite
  10. Strong understanding of accounting and inventory practices
  11. Problem solving skills
