Job Position: Associate Director, Pharmacy

Job Description
We are currently hiring an Associate Director, Pharmacy to lead the development, optimisation, and growth of Relarex, Reliance Health’s pharmacy benefits management program, into a self-sustaining and high-performing business unit.
The candidate will be responsible for building and scaling a robust network of pharmacy warehousing facilities, ensuring efficient and reliable fulfilment of digital prescriptions, and defining sustainable profit models.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to establish and scale the Relarex pharmacy network as a high-performing, self-sustaining business unit.
- Define and implement data-driven systems for monitoring key metrics related to supply chain, fulfilment, financial health, and service delivery.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, importers, and manufacturers to enable cost-effective, high-quality sourcing and ensure supply continuity.
- Oversee end-to-end distribution operations, including inventory management, fulfilment logistics, and cold-chain integrity where applicable.
- Lead, develop, and empower a high-performing, multidisciplinary team, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Analyse operational and market data to uncover inefficiencies, mitigate risks, and design strategic interventions that enhance performance.
- Set and achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets, including pricing optimisation, new revenue streams, and expansion strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant pharmaceutical regulations, quality standards, and internal protocols.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including tech, clinical, finance, and customer service, to enhance digital order fulfilment and improve the customer experience.
Requirements
- Must be a trained and licensed pharmacist with active registration in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated experience in pharmacy technology or digitally enabled pharmacy businesses, particularly in roles integrating clinical services with digital operations.
- Proven leadership experience in a growth-stage startup or a senior role in an established pharmacy chain with a digital/e-commerce presence.
- Strong track record of managing and scaling cross-functional teams, driving performance, and fostering operational alignment.
- Deep expertise in pharmaceutical logistics and supply chain management, including warehousing, inventory control, last-mile delivery, and cold-chain operations.
- Experience in building or optimising multi-location pharmacy networks and managing network performance.
- Solid understanding of pharmacy business models, including profit and revenue levers, pricing strategies, and cost optimisation.
- Exposure to healthcare financing models such as health insurance and pharmacy benefits management is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative leadership style suited to cross-functional teams.
