Job Position: Backend Development Instructor

Job Location: Igboefon – Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  • Reporting to the Platform Team Lead, the Senior Back End Developer (Python/GraphQL) is responsible for the development of serverside logic, definition and maintenance of the data model and APIs, and ensuring high performance to frontend requests.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Integrate frontend userfacing elements with applications/products
  2. Define and maintain the data models and APIs
  3. Building reusable code and libraries for future use
  4. Optimize applications and products for maximum speed and scalability
  5. Implementation of security and data protection
  6. Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to devise innovative technical solutions
  7. Write and maintain a full pyramid of tests
  8. Ensure that applications meet quality standards and user experience goals.

Job Requirements

  1. B.Sc Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field.
  2. Experience in building cloud (SaaS) applications.
  3. Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to; C#, Objective C, Javascript, or Go.
  4. Knowledge of Agile Software development methodologies.
  5. Ability to learn other coding languages is needed.
  6. Object-oriented, database design and SQL skills.

Must Have Skills and Experience:
Experience:

  • 4+ years of software engineering industry experience.
  • Experience with objectoriented programming.
  • Experience in distributed systems.
  • Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL.
  • Write clear, scalable and clear design documentation.
  • Design, build and improve a set of team owned components.
