Job Position: Backend Engineer

Job Location: Nigeria (Remote)

Job Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with engineering leads to aiding with architecture decisions for the application and supporting infrastructure.
  2. Help develop and own release versioning control and related documentation
  3. Design and implement testing and quality validation strategies.
  4. Building Restful APIs, SDKs, backend features, micro-services and infrastructure.

Job Requirements

  • 3 -5 years experience as a Backend Engineer
  • An execution mindset, good analytic skills and a team-play attitude.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Prior experience working in fintech is an advantage.

Technical & Professional Requirements:

  1. Strong knowledge of NodeJS and relevant frameworks
  2. Solid understanding of HTTP protocol and how server-side code is processed on the client
  3. Experience with typescript
  4. Strong working knowledge of Relational databases and NoSQL DB (Mongo DB)
  5. SQL / Database Queries
  6. Strong understanding of software development and design patterns
  7. Good working knowledge of ORMs
  8. Have a reasonable understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  9. Have strong experience creating and automating E2E tests.
  10. An eye for detail is crucial
  11. Able to handle multiple projects and competing deadlines
  12. Experience with deploying code multiple times a day
  13. Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies (Jira).
