Job Position: Backend Engineer (Elixir)

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • We are looking to hire a Backend  Engineer (Elixir) who will be responsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of applications.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Support and maintain existing production code in the field and develop and deliver new enhancements and products to our client base.
  2. Collaborate with product management, operations, quality, and front-end engineers to deliver the right solution.
  3. Develop reliable, high-performance service applications using Elixir – Phoenix.
  4. Provision, configure, and develop against remote infrastructure in AWS.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with at least 3 years of programming experience with Elixir
  2. Must have experience defining the scope and directing the work of mid-level – junior software engineers
  3. Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with our API
  4. Building reusable code and libraries for future use
  5. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  6. Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability
  7. Separation of centralized services into microservices
  8. Experience with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, or similar tools
  9. Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software.
  10. Experience with relational databases (PostGreSQL, MySQL) and key-value stores (Memcache, Redis)
  11. Good oral and written communication skills.

Working Environment:

  • Nigeria region, with opportunity for remote work.
