Job Position: Business Accountant
Job Location: Lagos
Job Description
- The Business Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of timely financial reporting & accounts, overseeing the financial records, and maintaining and monitoring tax-related issues.
- Also, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely remittances of statutory payments, and adequate record keeping, transaction postings, and bank reconciliation.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Daily Posting of Transactions on the ERP
- Weekly bank reconciliation
- Management Account Preparation
- Monthly payroll computation
- Monthly remittance of statutory obligations
Budget and Controls:
- Weekly monitoring of budget vs Actual numbers
- Weekly review of General Ledger transactions in ERP
- Monthly preparation of account schedules
- Alignment of Topline to Expenses
- Ensure adequate financial record in line with the IFRS and Group Finance Manual
- Provide monthly cost update and Management Accounts to the Management Team
- Ensure adequate overall tax administration and management of the business.
- Ensure adequate safety and record of company assets.
Tax Matters:
- Ensure Tax reporting compliance; VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT etc.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc. in Accounting, Economics, or Finance from a reputable university
- Must be a Chartered Accountant (ACCA or ACA) or a prospective member.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role.
- Age Requirement: 28 – 35 years old.
