Job Position: Business Analyst
Job Location: Idi-Oro, Lagos
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of business processes, market trends, and financial performance.
- Develop and present detailed reports and strategic recommendations to the GM,Operations.
- Prepare dashboards and KPIs to monitor business performance and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collect, analyse and interpret large data sets to identify trend, patterns and insights that inform business strategy.
Project Management:
- Coordinate and manage projects as assigned by the GM,Operations.
- Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and achieving strategic goals.
- Develop project plans, set milestones, and ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
- Track project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Financial Modeling and Budgeting:
- Create financial models to forecast business scenarios and evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Analyse competitive positioning and recommend strategies to enhance market share and profitability.
Process Improvement and Risk Management:
- Identify areas for process improvement within the organization.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
- Identify potential risks to business operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Monitor and report on risk management activities to ensure compliance with company policies.
Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the GM,Operations and other departments, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Prepare presentations, speeches, and technical documents for the GM,Operations.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, including drafting agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items.
Administrative Support:
- Manage the GM,Operations’s schedule, including appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ensure follow-up on action items from meetings.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or relevant field;
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) and Project Management is required.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in business analysis.
- Familiarity with the engineering industry and its trends.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Solid understanding of financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Proficient in Lean methodologies
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks) is an added advantage.
