Alkanes Petroleum and Gas Limited is primarily involved in the trading, marketing and retailing of Petroleum products in Nigeria and West African sub-region. We also provide bulk petroleum product storage services in our modern Petroleum storage depot in Calabar, Nigeria.
Job Position: Business Development Manager
Job Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- Drive the internal team in the execution of the plan to establish retail filling stations for the company
- Identify suitable stations for lease or outright purchase
- Put up strategy for Retail Business Development
- Liaising with regulatory Agencies for relevant documentation for proposed retail outlets
- Design a financially sound matrix for identifying Retail Filling Stations for lease or outright purchase
- Supervision of the activities of the depot sales team to ensure valuable intelligence on product prices and product availability
- Supervise Alkanes operations as it relates to business development
- Work with the COO in researching and identifying new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
- Generate leads and cold call prospective Partners and customers.
- Think and work strategically – seeing the bigger picture, setting and carrying out aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
- Support the COO in developing and maintaining relationships with various government agencies and trading partners such as: NNPC and her subsidiaries, NMDPRA, Trading partners such as- Vitol SA; Mocoh SA; Trafigura Pte; British Petroleum; etc
- Ensuring compliance with all various relevant regulatory authorities as it pertains to documentation
- Prepare daily/ monthly sales report.
Job Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with 3 – 7 years experience in the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of depot sales or marketing of petroleum products would be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Resilient and able to work under pressure and time constraints.
- Must be detail-oriented, possessing the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Good time management and planning skills.
- Should have a flair for networking.
