Job Position: Business Development Manager

Job Description

  • The Business Developer is principally responsible for raising revenue and expanding business opportunities that allow the organization to achieve and sustain its mission.
  • The business Developer achieves these goals by creating and executing an ethical business strategy to expand existing funding relationships and to identify and secure opportunities with new business partners through business service contracts and/or private-pay services.

Job Responsibilities
Business  Development  Planning:

  1. Analyze the customer base across Creatrix Empire  / Afrobeatsglobal to establish a common approach to retention and growth
  2. Enhance operational staff business development capabilities and work with them to achieve their winning works targets
  3. Develops and regularly updates a comprehensive business development plan, with targeted goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines to achieve agency sustainability and annual budget goals
  4. Business Intelligence
  5. Develop an  understanding of relevant sectors and how they are likely to respond
  6. Undertake key research to understand the Business and project drivers of sectors, customers and potential opportunities
  7. Analyzes and identifies scope for business case analysis and recommends solutions and improvements to business procedures

Client Relationships:

  • Engage with sectors and customers to anticipate potential business opportunities and implement actions that will position the company with differentiated advantage
  • Ensure effective management of customer satisfaction surveys
  • Prepare programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion that will contribute to the achievement of the company’s objectives.

Business Management:

  • Identify and maintain new contacts and networks relevant for business development and project identification
  • Develop key strategic consultancy partnerships, in line with the organization’s partnership framework
  • Assess value for money and make recommendations for improvement.

Key Networking / Events:

  • Organize and represent the company at key  networking  events  to  raise the  company profile.

General:

  1. Secure clients and partnerships for the company on monthly basis.
  2. Develop and implement an annual Business Development plan for the Company.
  3. Prepare an annual marketing budget with the marketing team and manage the budget throughout the year.
  4. Strengthen the Company’s business development and marketing processes, systems and procedures including: the marketing and contacts database; knowledge database and management; lead identification, selection and management; lead and opportunities pipeline; etc.
  5. Maintain a cycle of business development activities including the identification and cultivation of potential clients, market research, preparing marketing strategies and plans, marketing visits, presentations, attendance at conferences and seminars, delivering and publishing papers and generally maintaining for the Company a high-profile presence in the market.
  6. Strengthen the processes, systems and procedures to improve the quality and speed of preparation of expressions of interest, and proposals for opportunities and ensure continuous improvement.
  7. Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and potential key clients, strategic partner firms and independent consultants.
  8. Organize and implement a client and partner care program including: client satisfaction/feedback surveys, client and partner development activities, and client and partner events.
  9. Conduct reviews of projects, ensuring that any lessons learnt are appropriately disseminated and acted upon.
  10. Work in partnership with the creative team, develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets
  11. Manage content and updates for customer and internal touch points, establishing budget guidelines, participating in events, documenting business processes, and providing additional sales support
  12. Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads
  13. Identify effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly
  14. Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams, and communicate with senior management about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Management.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management or other related fields or substantial commensurate experience in similar roles in this field.
  • At least 5 years relevant work experience.

Other Selection Criteria (skills, knowledge and experience):

  1. Demonstrated success leading business strategy development, business-to-business partnering
  2. Successful experience with federal, state and private-sector grant and/or pilot program funding.
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and management systems
  5. Experience in building commercial relationships to help deliver improved service and innovation to the customer
  6. Existing network of contacts within company’s sector (media and entertainment)
  7. Detailed knowledge of marketing and business development (strategic and tactical)
  8. Ability to prioritize workload and meet  deadlines
  9. Ability to seek and develop new relationships to achieve strategic business objectives
  10. Ability to convert client relationships into opportunities for the business
  11. Ability to contribute to development of strategy and take responsibility for delivering strategic objectives
  12. Ability to recognize changing market forces that may impact upon own or customers’ business and puts plans into action to make a positive contribution
  13. Ability to work effectively as a member of different teams both internally and externally.
