Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth through client acquisition, portfolio expansion, and strategic partnerships within the mortgage and housing finance ecosystem.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience in mortgage banking, exceptional sales acumen, and a proven ability to meet and exceed business targets.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow the bank’s mortgage and retail portfolio.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities in housing finance, property acquisition, and construction loans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, real estate agents, cooperatives, and institutional clients.
- Lead deposit mobilisation and product cross-selling initiatives to increase revenue.
- Manage and coach business development officers to ensure achievement of sales and performance goals.
- Conduct market research and provide insights to support product innovation and client acquisition strategies.
- Prepare business proposals, loan recommendations, and performance reports.
- Represent the Bank at business forums, property exhibitions, and client meetings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal credit and operational standards.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- An MBA or professional certification (e.g., CIBN, CIM, ACCA) will be an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5–6 years’ experience in mortgage banking, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding loan and revenue targets.
- Deep understanding of mortgage products, property financing, and real estate market dynamics.
- Strong business development, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM applications.
- High level of initiative and strategic thinking.
