Job Position: Business Development Manager

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Description

  • The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing the restaurant’s market presence.
  • The role focuses on identifying growth opportunities, increasing brand awareness, and ensuring customer satisfaction through innovative marketing initiatives and operational collaborations.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Functionally Reports To: MD
  • Administratively Reports To: MD
  • Supervises: Social Media Manager, Customer Service Representatives

Working Relationships:

  • Internal: All Staff
  • External: External Auditors, Shareholders, Consultants, Financiers/Bankers, Strategic Alliance/Technical Partners and Clients

Job Responsibilities
Business Growth and Strategy:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the restaurant’s client base and increase revenue.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the restaurant’s offerings (dine in, events, etc.).
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with management to develop short-term and long-term business growth plans.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Develop strategies to increase in-store and online sales, including dine-in, take-out, and delivery.
  • Design and execute promotional campaigns such as discounts, meal deals, and loyalty programs to boost sales.
  • Collaborate with delivery platforms to optimize visibility and manage special offers.

Partnership and Community Engagement:

  • Identify and secure partnerships with local businesses, offices, schools, and community organizations to increase foot traffic.
  • Foster relationships with third-party vendors, influencers, and food bloggers for collaborations and reviews.
  • Represent the restaurant in community events to build brand awareness.

Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends in fast-casual dining and customer preferences.
  • Analyze competitors’ strategies to maintain a competitive edge in pricing, promotions, and menu offerings.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for menu innovations based on market demand.

Marketing and Branding:

  • Develop and implement digital marketing campaigns across social media, email, and website platforms.
  • Ensure the restaurant’s branding aligns with customer expectations and resonates with the target audience.
  • Monitor online reviews and respond to customer feedback to maintain a positive brand reputation.

Customer Retention and Experience:

  • Enhance customer experience through personalized promotions and targeted communication.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure customer satisfaction is reflected in service delivery.
  • Analyze customer data to identify patterns and develop retention strategies.

Reporting and Performance Metrics:

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and campaign ROI.
  • Monitor and present insights on sales performance and suggest actionable improvements.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Monthly/Quarterly revenue growth.
  • Number of new partnerships or collaborations.
  • Customer acquisition and retention rates.
  • Performance of marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
  • Growth in customer base and loyalty program participation.

Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field.
  • Professional Qualifications
  • Relevant professional qualifications are an advantage

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing in the food and beverage (F&B) or fast-casual industry.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and delivery platform integrations.

Key Competencies Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and analytics tools.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of fast-casual dining trends and customer behavior.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Work Cycle (Hours / Days):

  • Monday – Fridays (8am – 5pm)
  • Additional hours outside regular work cycles may be required to meet the job demands

Travel Requirements:

  • As required to meet job demands.
