Job Position: Business Development Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. As the Business Development Manager, you will support the executive team to generate new leads, identify and screen potential business opportunities, engage stakeholders, and build partnerships increasing revenue for the business.
  2. Manage proposal response process, reports including detailed (Request for Proposal) RFP requirements, content creation and input from various sources necessary for bids.
  3. This is a quota-carrying role where you will make a visible impact within our growing organization.
  4. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the coordination and implementation of business strategies to achieve strategic goals for the organization.
  2. Effectively track activities and performance of projects/initiatives and report metrics to guide decision-making and follow up.
  3. Recommend growth strategies, optimization plans for cost and loss reductions initiatives for operating companies in Software development and outsourcing space.
  4. Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, and regularly meet with managers and stakeholders to discuss strategy and implementation to achieve organizational OKR
  5. Development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships.
  6. Maintain and share professional knowledge through learning sessions, networking, events, and presentations
  7. Undertake other duties commensurate with this position, as designated by the company.
  8. Identifying opportunities on which to submit bids and feeding into the decision over whether to bid for the project.
  9. Devising a successful strategy for winning a bid, including pinpointing the unique selling points (key differentiators) of the company, knowing your company’s operating and profit margins and understanding the clients’ specific requirements
  10. Working with key members of the project team and the client organization to obtain the information required to compile the bid (in the construction industry, members of the project team may include (software developers, product designers and project managers )
  11. Meet and exceed your sales goals through prospecting, qualifying, managing, closing new sales opportunities, and leading contract negotiations.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Business, Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain or equivalent. An MBA or Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  2. Minimum of 3 years working experience in similar/relevant roles in the Tech sector or related.
  3. Experience with the development and implementation of business development strategy
  4. Commercially savvy in engaging customers, internal and external stakeholders; building strong and trusted networks.
  5. At least 2 years experience in proposal writing and contract bidding for both private and government projects.
  6. Experience with cold outreach or any outbound activity (LinkedIn messaging, emails, cold calls, outside/in-person selling) and use of technology tools such as Zoom, Zoho, G-suite, Office365, CRM, salesforce, etc
  7. Consistent over achievement of sales quota; and experience working with enterprise experience
  8. Strategic and creative thinking enables you to understand industry and customer trends and apply those insights to deliver business results.
  9. Strong analytical, [“organizational”], and creative thinking skills.
  10. Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff and stakeholders
  11. Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills
  12. Capacity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment and under pressure
  13. Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity, as well as the ability to build trust amongst other team members.
  14. Knowledge of business financial analysis will be an advantage.
