Job Description

  • As the Business development Officerat Pullus Africa, your primary responsibility will be to drive business growth and strategic partnerships, identify new business opportunities, drive sales performance, collaborative engagements with team, build and maintain strong business relationships with our partners, conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities and other stakeholder needs and demands.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company business objectives.
  • Development and Implementation of the strategy for sales
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships and growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analyse industry trends to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Create and present business proposals, business forecasts and sales flowcharts.
  • Maintain strategic business development plans to meet expected revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Monitor and report on business performance, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Ensure proper sales data management and evaluation.
  • Actively identify and reach out to potential customers, including smallholder farmers, commercial poultry producers, and other key stakeholders in the agricultural industry.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and generate new sales leads.
  • Leverage the company’s marketing and digital channels to identify and qualify sales opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Regularly visit client sites to understand their challenges, needs, and priorities, and provide personalized solutions.
  • Continuously monitor customer satisfaction and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
  • Understand the company’s poultry products, technologies, and services, and how they can address the specific needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with the operations and customer support teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals for customers.
  • Present the company’s offerings effectively, highlighting the benefits and value proposition to the customer.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment schedules with clients to secure sales and maximize profitability.
  • Overcome objections and address customer concerns to successfully close sales.
  • Ensure that all necessary paperwork, documentation, and approvals are obtained for each sale.
  • Maintain detailed records of all sales activities, including customer interactions, proposals, and closed deals.
  • Regularly report on sales performance, pipeline, and key metrics to the sales management team.
  • Identify and share best practices, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or any related field
  • Minimum 3 years of business development experience in an agricultural industry
  • Proven track record of strategy alignment, sales performance, driving business growth and partnership
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Resides in Kaduna and open to travel
