Job Position: Business Development Officer

Job Location: Wuse 2, Abuja (FCT)

Job Description

  • To build and deepen relationships with existing and potential clients by selling product/services of the company, particularly deposit mobilization, to retail, HNI and MSME customers.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Grow the existing risk asset portfolio in line with the Company’s strategy.
  2. Identify, develop and cultivate relationships with customers within the retail and MSME segment that are in need of loans and advances to support their business.
  3. Manage existing customers’ portfolio as well as develop new business opportunities by generating risk assets within the MSME and retail market.
  4. Leverage the Transkredit’s existing relationship by developing and executing proactive, creative and on-going contact initiatives.
  5. Prepare sales pitches, presentations and other documents required for Transkredit customer’s engagements.
  6. Assist in the development, launching and sales of new product offering.
  7. Ensure synergy and collaboration in inter-house activities and communication in order to facilitate effective and smooth running of the Company’s operations.
  8. Manage MSME and retail banking portfolio within the region to minimise business risks and maximise profitability.
  9. Maintain relationship with key customers within the Bank and ensure that such customers are well served by officers within the Transkredit.
  10. Ensure the smooth running of operations in the bank within with respect to deposit mobilization.
  11. Ensure a complete, accurate and balanced assessment of risk in the credit approval presentation.
  12. Coordinate the approval process managing information flow and ensuring that the credit follows the stated approval process for the facility limit.
  13. Keep abreast of regulations, government policies and other developments that may affect the operations, business goals and objectives of the division within the assigned region.
  14. Ensuring that the legal documentation is complete, consistent with the internal approvals and properly executed and filed.
  15. Monitor industry trends and obtain necessary intelligence to be used as input for new product development.
  16. Supervisory of the business development manager.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess HND / Bachelor’s Degrees with 8 – 10 years relevant work experience.

Technical Skills:

  1. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles of product development, brand management and business intelligence.
  2. Working knowledge of the leading products and services available in the global market
  3. Deep knowledge of the marketing terrain in Nigeria
  4. Expert knowledge of Transkredit’s products and services.
  5. Good knowledge of the micro finance industry regulatory guidelines and the provisions of the license.
  6. In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian Financial Services Industry with emphasis on the retail/small business.

Soft Skills:

  1. Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal and negotiation skills
  2. High level of attention to detail
  3. Excellent project management skills
  4. Strong leadership, supervisory and people management skills
  5. High proficiency in the use of all MS Office tool.
