Job Summary
Our client seeks a proactive and resourceful Business Development Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing scrap batteries, managing aggregator relationships, and overseeing collation centres in Ogere and Ibadan. This role requires strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and the ability to drive operational efficiency in the battery procurement process.
Job Responsibilities
- Generate leads and drive the procurement of lead-acid batteries.
- Negotiate competitive, market-aligned purchase prices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of purchases, supplier records, and battery quality assessments.
- Oversee storage and handling of scrap batteries in line with environmental and internal guidelines.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors and manage feedback or complaints.
- Coordinate logistics and transportation of batteries to the factory in a cost-effective manner.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities and provide strategic insights to the BD Supervisor.
- Support the coordination of special business development projects as assigned.

- Lead generation targets and procurement volume achievement.
- Accuracy and timeliness of documentation and reporting.
- Efficiency in logistics coordination and delivery timelines.
- Vendor satisfaction and retention rate.
- Responsiveness to market shifts and competitor pricing.
Requirements
- B.Sc in Business, Marketing, or any relevant field.
- 1–2 years’ experience in sales, business development, or procurement.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and travel as required.
- Familiarity with handling logistics and environmental compliance is a plus.
Salary
Competitive + Commission.
