Job Description

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, potential clients/customers, and emerging market trends. This includes analyzing industry trends, competitor analysis, and evaluating market potential.
  • Lead Generation: Actively seek and generate leads for potential clients/customers through various channels such as networking, cold calling, attending industry events, and utilizing online platforms. Maintain a pipeline of prospects and qualify leads for further engagement.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients/customers, understanding their needs, and identifying opportunities for up-selling or cross-selling. Ensure excellent customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the internal team to develop compelling business proposals and presentations tailored to the needs of potential clients. This includes creating value propositions, pricing strategies, and delivering persuasive pitches.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Explore strategic partnerships, alliances, or collaborations with other organizations to expand business opportunities, reach new markets, or enhance service offerings. Negotiate and establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms and conditions with potential clients or partners, ensuring that agreements are in line with the organization’s goals and protect its interests. Work closely with management, legal and finance teams to finalize contracts.
  • Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of business development strategies and plans. This includes identifying target markets, defining sales strategies, setting revenue targets, and proposing innovative approaches to drive growth.
  • Market Expansion: Explore opportunities to expand the organization’s presence in new markets or geographical areas. This may involve conducting market entry assessments, developing market penetration strategies, and establishing local partnerships.
  • Relationship Building: Network and build relationships with key stakeholders, industry influencers, and decision-makers. This includes attending conferences, industry events, and engaging in professional associations to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze business development activities, measuring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, revenue growth, and market share. Provide regular reports and insights to management for informed decision-making.

Job Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degrees in Business, Marketing, or a related field is typically required. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is beneficial.
  • 3 – 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Sales and Business Development Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of sales techniques, business development strategies, and market dynamics is crucial. Understanding of different industries and markets is beneficial.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to effectively communicate with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. The ability to deliver persuasive presentations and negotiate effectively is important.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders are vital. Networking skills and the ability to establish trust and rapport are beneficial.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable me to analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and make data-driven decisions. The ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies is important.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiation techniques and the ability to achieve win-win outcomes is valuable. This includes contract negotiation, partnership agreements, and pricing discussions.
  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to think strategically and identify long-term business opportunities is important. This includes analyzing market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to develop effective business development strategies.
  • Results-Driven: A strong drive for achieving targets and a track record of meeting or exceeding business development goals is desired. The ability to work independently and take initiative is important.
  • Adaptability: The business landscape is dynamic, so the ability to adapt to changing market conditions, industry trends, and client needs is crucial.
