Job Position: Business Development Representative
Location: Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- A Business Development Representative (BDR) is office-based.
- The BDR will make telephone/email contact with suspects, prospects and lapsed customers to identify opportunities and generate sales leads for Mantrac.
- The BDR will also handle all incoming enquiries, whether by phone, email or personal visit.
Main Functions
- Qualify assigned leads, prospects, suspects and lapsed customers by telephone.
- Conduct telephone marketing campaigns as and when required with a view to generating new leads and opportunities.
- Handle all incoming calls, web leads and walk-in customers with a view to identifying new opportunities.
- Use Salesforce to update all activities by completing all relevant information, including customer details, population, opportunity and follow-up.
- Assign leads to ISR/TSR, dependent on Ground Rules
- Maintain sufficient customer narrative (record of each conversation) to sufficiently educate the salesperson to make the lead transfer seamless for the potential customer. Summarise on Sales Force.
- Transfer leads to the appropriate salesperson in a timely and efficient manner and ensure it matches customer expectations.
- Actively manage the customer list to ensure follow-up calls are made at pre-agreed times in order to maximise participation.
- Complete 25 successful suspect, prospect or customer calls per day.
- Verify and update contact information for suspects, prospects and customers as per the standard Mantrac Sales Force defined process.
- Continue to develop expertise in products and services through SDPC training, research and perpetual learning.
- Expand contacts within Mantrac as a resource for customers.
- Recommend dealer solutions to reduce customer owning and operating costs and demonstrate value.
- Maximise prime product opportunities, parts and service sales by promoting all aspects of the dealer’s offerings.
- Establish a personal working relationship with contacts based on value, knowledge, trust and character.
- Monitor and report all pertinent market information relative to competitive activity, customer information and product performance.
- Achieve the planned annual rate of call (PAR) for each assigned account.
Relevant Information
- B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the industry (sales, marketing & technical experience).
- Good written and spoken English.
- Interpersonal and communication skills. Leadership skills and the ability to take initiative.
- Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as averages, percentages, geometry, and statistics.
- Computer Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in the software applications of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Sales Force, desirable but training will be given.
