Job Position: Manager, Card Issuing and Operations

Job Description

  1. Craft a visionary product strategy for Renmoney’s card issuance suite, factoring in market dynamics, customer insights, competitive analysis, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Champion innovation by proactively identifying new products, features, and partnerships that create market differentiation and deliver unparalleled customer value.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  1. Build strong partnerships with technology, operations, marketing, customer support, risk management, compliance, and other relevant teams to ensure flawless product execution.
  2. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to align cross-functional efforts, resolve potential roadblocks, and drive overall success.

Product Development and Launch:

  1. Collaborate closely with technology and third-party partners (like Wema Bank and Interswitch) throughout the product development cycle. This includes requirement definition, feature prioritization, testing, and launch.
  2. Champion compliance by ensuring card products adhere strictly to security standards, industry regulations, and Renmoney’s internal policies.

Market Intelligence and Customer Centricity:

  1. Proactively research market trends, competitor strategies, and evolving customer preferences. Leverage this knowledge to make informed product roadmap decisions.
  2. Maintain an unwavering focus on customer experience. Collect and analyze customer feedback to drive continuous improvement of card products and services.

Risk Management and Security:

  1. Work in close partnership with risk management and fraud prevention teams to develop and implement robust strategies that safeguard both customers and Renmoney.
  2. Stay abreast of emerging fraud threats and proactively implement countermeasures to protect cardholder assets and Renmoney’s reputation.

Operational Excellence and Performance:

  1. Define and monitor critical KPIs to assess card product performance, customer adoption, and overall business impact.
  2. Ruthlessly identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements, ensuring optimal operational efficiency for card issuing and support areas.

Path to Independence:

  • Actively contribute to Renmoney’s plan to become an associate member of the Mastercard card program. Assist in evaluating requirements, building capabilities, and ensuring a smooth transition.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field. Advanced Degree (MBA) preferred.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in card issuing within a bank, fintech, or relevant payment services company.
  • Proven track record of success in product management, product launch, and operational management within the card payments industry.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Deep understanding of the Nigerian payments landscape, including regulations, card associations, processors, and key players.
  2. Familiarity with Mastercard’s associate membership program and its requirements is a strong asset.
  3. Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  4. Exceptional leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate across teams.
  5. Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and results-driven execution.
