Job Position: Channel Operations Specialist (POS and Card Payment)

Job  Description

  1. We’re looking for a Channel Operations Specialist who is passionate about our mission of driving financial inclusion in Africa.
  2. The ideal candidate will play an essential role in ensuring that payments made by customers or businesses are processed correctly and on time.
  3. The ideal role holder may also be tasked with resolving any issues that arise with these transactions processing and availability of the channels, such as errors or other problems.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the availability, stability, and reliability of card payment systems.
  2. Monitor, support, and optimize production systems and services.
  3. Investigate and resolve system downtime affecting channels and card payment applications.
  4. Provide technical support for identifying and resolving transaction-related issues.
  5. Proactively monitor processes and transactions to identify potential glitches.
  6. Maintain stable connections with service providers/switching partners for payment channels.
  7. Collaborate with the technology and product management team to suggest improvements for customer experiences.
  8. Track and resolve downtimes on any of the payment channels.
  9. Analyze and interpret application logs to resolve identified issues.
  10. Engage with switching partners for prompt issue resolution.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  2. At least three years of related experience.
  3. Proficiency in supporting and managing financial (cards) transaction processing systems.
  4. Advanced knowledge of card payment systems and transaction process flow.
  5. Strong work ethic and service mentality with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  6. Proficiency in problem-solving, investigation, and addressing application issues.
  7. Basic knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging.
  8. Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet packages, preferably Microsoft Excel.
