Job Description

  • We are looking to hire a reliable and well-experienced Communications Specialist to join our capable team of professionals.
  • The communications specialist will be responsible for creating and executing communication strategies to promote Agbeyewa Farms’ mission, initiatives, and products.
  • The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent writing skills, capable of managing internal and external communications, media relations, and digital content creation to enhance our brand visibility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and edit various types of content, including press releases, newsletters, blog posts, social media updates, and website copy.
  • Manage media relations, plan and coordinate company events, including press conferences, product launches, and community outreach activities.
  • Work with the Marketing team to oversee the management and growth of the company’s social media presence by developing engaging content, increasing audience engagement, and monitoring trends.
  • Draft and distribute internal communications such as memos, emails, and announcements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the company intranet and internal communication channels.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product teams, and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
  • Conduct research to support communication strategies and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives and optimize strategies accordingly.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Proven experience in managing media relations and digital marketing strategies.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with agricultural or rural development sectors is a plus.
  • Passion for storytelling and promoting positive narratives.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders, employees, and media.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
