Job Position: Compliance Legal Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • This position will focus on mitigating risks through the design, implementation, and enforcement of policies and procedures that ensure operation activities are undertaken within the boundaries of the law and compliant with the rules and restrictions set out by regulatory bodies.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Attend court cases involving riders against the company.
  2. File cases against guarantors and riders that have absconded with the company bike for too long.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures that meet laws and sector-specific rules and regulations outlined by relevant regulatory agencies.
  4. Retrieve bikes from government agencies.
  5. Advising the team on legal or regulatory issues regarding compliance.
  6. Draft and review legal documents.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of an LL.B
  2. Compliance legal industry-specific experience
  3. Understanding of the law and sector-specific rules, guidelines, and regulations
  4. Good Understanding of contractual law
  5. Ability to avert downstream legal risks
  6. Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft tools.
