Job Position: Consultant – Design CRII Performance Dashboard on Power BI

Job Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Description

  1. To design the overall database architecture for service(interventions) across 4 sectors – WASH, Nutrition, Food Assistance and Agric
  2. To build sector specific dashboards that visualize prioritized Food Assistance, WASH, Nutrition and Agric sectors’ indicators on Power Bi, drawing from data from CommCare and RedRose
  3. To Train MEAL staff to refresh, rebuild and/or maintain the database and dashboards as part of the decommissioning process.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Hold an inception meeting with CRII MEAL and programs team to fully understand the Project’s vision for the Database
  2. Design a general architecture of the project database (in conjunction with CRII partners) on CommCare to accommodate 4 sectors – Food Assistance, Agric, WASH, Nutrition and two cross cutting activities (FCRM and Protection mainstreaming).
  3. Digitize (on CommCare) the registration, service monitoring and follow up tracking forms across 4 sectors including Nutrition WASH, Food Assistance and Agric. These forms should be onboarded on the database in a case-management style, allowing for follow-up services to be tracked per beneficiary from registration to case closure/project close out.
  4. Design, set-up, test and deploy, in coordination with CRS MEAL Manager, ICT4D officer a comprehensive database for CRII on CommCare.
  5. Develop sector-specific dashboards and connect data from CommCare and RedRose on PBI dashboards for the 4 sectors (Nutrition, WASH, Food Assistance and Agric) in line with project information and reporting needs.
  6. Train, and support the CRII MEAL team for 1 week to operationalize, refresh, rebuild, review and/or maintain the database and dashboard as part of system hand-over processes. The training should cover the following:
    • Building interactive dashboards Power Bi
    • Using Power Query for data cleaning and merging datasets from similar and different data sources
    • Basic DAX Calculations
    • Other necessary contents needed for seamless operationalization of the database system

Job Requirements

  1. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field (Desirable).
  2. Five or more years of experience in developing dashboard.
  3. At least three years of data modelling experience, and knowledge of Commcare, Red rose and other data warehousing modelling techniques.
  4. Experience with BI reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.).
  5. Ability to communicate information clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
  6. Five or more years of experience with data analysis and data profiling using SQL and other tools.
  7. High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
  8. Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution and recommendations.

Mode of Reporting:

  1. The ICT4D Consultant will report to the Emergency Coordinator with support of the MEAL Manager CRII, and ICT4D Officer, Sector Leads and Program Manager.
  2. Overall coordination and technical oversight will be provided by the CRS Country Program MEAL Coordinator

Key Working Relationships:

  1. Emergency Coordinator, MEAL Coordinator, MEAL Manager, MEAL officers, ICT4D/CAT Officers and program leads.
