Job Position: Control Officer, Monitoring and Standards
Location: Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

  1. Research and Standardisation of Controls Bank-wide.
  2. Risk and Control Document Review with Operational Risk Management
  3. Assist in the implementation of the Internal Control Framework and Fraud Risk Management Framework in the bank
  4. Development, Review and Update of the Control Review Templates, Work Programs and Test Procedures
  5. Assist in the review of the Risk Rating of branches, Head Office and Subsidiaries to determine frequency of reviews and areas of focus for Control Officers
  6. Assist in ensuring uniform standards on controls and control documentation across subsidiaries, branches and the Head Office.
  7. Participate in monthly quality assurance review of control officers’ uploads from review visitations and validate quality and timeliness scores
  8. Maintaining the Internal Control Document Repository on the FBN Portal and portal access management
  9. Track initiatives, process improvements and other engagement action points as required
  10. Organising Control Awareness Campaigns
  11. Prepare e-flyers content for control training and awareness on topical issues, and engage the M&CC department for design and deployment Bankwide
  12. Provide practical initiatives on control improvements in the related area.
  13. Arrange Stakeholder Meetings for Process Changes to Ensure Proper Documentation and Approval of Changes.
  14. Fraud Documentation and Analysis
  15. Comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook
  16. Maintain the Security of all Information entrusted to the staff
  17. Assist in the recruitment and assessment of candidates
  18. Assist in the drafting of recruitment documents – case study, assessment questions – for assessment sessions
  19. Carry out other functions as prescribed by the TL, Monitoring and Standards and the Head, Control Techniques & Standards

Requirements
Education:

  1. Minimum Education: BSC / HND in any relevant discipline (Accounting, Economics and any other related field)
  2.  An ICA/ACCA/CISA qualification will be an added advantage

Experience:

  1. Minimum experience – 5 years in general banking with exposure to banking operations, procurement and supplies, internal control, market risk management, financial control and internal audit.
