Job Position: Controls Systems Engineer

Job Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • The Control System Engineer who will be responsible for developing/designing machines and process control systems and implementing the finished product as required by the customer.

Other responsibilities include:

  1. Develop new control and monitoring systems conforming to ISA and CSI standards.
  2. Extend start up support and training for control and monitoring systems.
  3. Create and execute wireless communication systems for manufacturing.
  4. Conduct prestart up equipment walks to validate installation.
  5. Handle facilities equipment start up safely.
  6. Interface with equipment vendors and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve startup issues.
  7. Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification.
  8. Understand process control issues and develop control solutions to enhance process with Manufacturing Engineer.
  9. Frequent testing, modifying, and sustaining of existing systems.
  10. Conducting data analysis and presenting findings in a report
  11. Communicate and support design specialists, process engineers, operation managers and suppliers.
  12. Liaise with clients and stakeholders on costs, equipment, and concerns.
  13. Inspect control systems, assess technical risks, and implement health and safety regulations.
  14. Solve problems involving signal errors, operations, and automation.
  15. Apply knowledge of relevant network services.
  16. Troubleshoot problems with current PLC control systems.
  17. Reverse engineer current systems and programs for performing failure recovery.
  18. Maintain configuration control of current PLC source code.
  19. Offer controls engineering support to plant operations.
  20. Reply to downtime events impacting Production.
  21. Troubleshoot control systems wiring and PLC / SCADA logic.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or its equivalent in any discipline.
  2. Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
