Job Position: Cost Control Officer
Location: Ikate, Lekki – Lagos

Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and highly analytical Cost Control Officer to join our growing hospitality business. This role is critical to managing cost efficiency across all units, ensuring proper stock utilisation, preventing waste, controlling overheads, and protecting profit margins. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for numbers, experience with inventory control systems, and a firm understanding of hospitality or food service operations.

Job Responsibilities
Cost Monitoring & Analysis:

  1. Track daily consumption and usage of raw materials across kitchen, bar, and service areas.
  2. Review recipes, portion sizes, and batch yields to ensure adherence to cost standards.
  3. Investigate variances between actual vs. theoretical costs and report findings.

Inventory Control:

  1. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts (raw materials, food, bar, and store items).
  2. Verify stock receipts, transfers, and requisitions to ensure accurate recording.
  3. Collaborate with storekeepers, kitchen leads, and bartenders to detect stock abuse or over-portioning.

Process Auditing & Reporting:

  1. Audit stock movement across all units (dispatch, return, wastage, spoilage).
  2. Monitor food and beverage wastage and recommend process improvements.
  3. Prepare timely reports on cost trends, inventory discrepancies, and stock ageing.

Systems & Process Enforcement:

  1. Ensure that all units adhere to SOPs for procurement, storage, and usage.
  2. Support finance and operations with input into pricing, menu engineering, and budgeting.
  3. Participate in regular kitchen/bar audits to verify compliance and efficiency.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in cost control or inventory management (hospitality or FMCG sector preferred).
  3. Strong knowledge of inventory software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar tools).
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability.
  6. Ability to work independently and across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 Monthly.
