Job Position: Credit & Marketing Officer
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

  1. The Credit and Marketing Officer is responsible for driving business growth through effective marketing and credit operations.
  2. This includes building and managing client relationships, executing credit assessments, growing the company’s loan portfolio, and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
  3. The role is central to increasing revenue through the sale of financial products and managing risk assets through the company’s policies.

Job Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Engagement:

  1. Proactively acquire and manage new and existing clients to grow loan and deposit portfolios.
  2. Conduct business reviews to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.
  3. Develop tailored financial solutions based on client needs and business models.
  4. Prepare and present proposals, marketing pitches, and client onboarding documentation.
  5. Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to adjust marketing strategies accordingly.

Credit Operations:

  1. Conduct preliminary credit screening and risk assessments for loan applicants.
  2. Ensure facility requests meet the company’s target market definition and credit criteria.
  3. Liaise with internal departments to process credit applications promptly.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation for all credit transactions in line with policy.

Portfolio and Risk Management:

  1. Identify early warning signs of potential delinquency and proactively engage clients.
  2. Implement timely and strategic recovery actions for non-performing accounts.
  3. Maintain a healthy loan portfolio aligned with risk management frameworks.
  4. Collaborate with the risk team to ensure policy compliance and loan integrity.

Reporting and Documentation:

  1. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports, including call memos and sales pipelines.
  2. Maintain up-to-date records on all clients and credit activities for audits and compliance.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in financial product sales, credit analysis, or business development.
  3. Strong knowledge of financial services, credit management, and lending practices.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to explain financial concepts to clients clearly and persuasively.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and CRM software.
  7. Strong numerical, analytical, and research skills.
  8. Proven track record in meeting sales and revenue targets.
