Job Position: Cybersecurity Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to lead and execute strategic and hands-on security initiatives.
This role blends high-level architecture design with operational responsibilities such as threat monitoring, incident response, and compliance.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically skilled, and capable of communicating complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure architecture and cybersecurity frameworks across systems and applications.
- Monitor systems using SIEM tools to detect, investigate, and respond to threats in real time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Configure and manage security tools, including firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS, and patch management systems.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and lead response efforts during security events.
- Perform forensic investigations and analyse logs to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
- Manage identity and access controls, enforcing least privilege and role-based access principles.
- Implement and manage security controls in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP—experience in any is acceptable).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices across the organisation.
- Prepare clear and concise security reports, dashboards, and documentation for leadership and audits.
- Deliver security awareness training and promote a culture of security across teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity within tech-driven environments.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CISA are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, encryption, risk management, and security infrastructures.
- Experience with tools such as Splunk, Nessus, Wireshark, Palo Alto, and cloud security platforms.
- Proficiency in technical writing, documentation, and reporting.
- Ability to explain security concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organised with a proactive mindset.
