Job Position: Data Analyst, Collections & Risk

Job Description

  1. You will be working as a Collections Analyst in the Risk department and will be responsible for driving the growth of our portfolio in Nigeria.
  2. Your mission is to ensure portfolio performance according to the company OKRs, offering the best-tailored credit services to as many clients as possible.
  3. Your goal is to build FairMoney as a Tier 1 digital lender in Nigeria and you will be a key Business Partner to achieve the same.
  4. As the Collections Analyst for the Nigerian business, you will be part of a team that plays a critical role in managing FairMoney’s ability to grow in the market.
  5. You will be one of the key stakeholders and contributors in decisions revolving around the business and product strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the development of collections strategy
  2. Strategic campaign planning and optimization of new and existing collections models
  3. Utilize data sets to perform analytics and propose solutions
  4. Own the main portfolio metrics – default rates, acceptance rates, and profitability
  5. Collaborate with Data Science, Debt Collection, and Growth teams on a daily basis
  6. Work closely together with the Product and Engineering team on improvements for the lending product
  7. Build, improve, and maintain the credit risk policy for Nigeria that will allow growth of the portfolio according to company OKRs
  8. Communicate the performance results and other findings with the respective stakeholders
  9. Keep up to date with the company’s lending protocols
  10. Benchmarking current risk practices against those stipulated within business units
  11. Implementing the best possible methodologies in improving the credit performance, considering the risk associated, yet offering the prime credit facility.

Job Requirements

  1. At least 2 years experience with exposure to Fintech / retail banking credit risk (consumer loans) / NBFCs
  2. Expert in credit risk analysis/underwriting principles, methods, and practices
  3. Proficient SQL user, with reasonable experience with BI tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or similar
  4. Strong quantitative analysis experience
  5. Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
  6. Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts
  7. Strong communication skills.
