Job Position: Data Analytics Officer (Intern)
Job Location: Yaba, Lagos
Job Description
- The data analytics internship involves analyzing data to aid decision-making. The Data intern will be tasked with responsibilities such as data cleaning, statistical analysis, creating visualizations, and generating insights from various datasets. He/she may also be involved in supporting ongoing projects, conducting research, and contributing to the development of data-driven strategies.
- Success here means strong analytical skills, using tools effectively, and clear communication of findings. It’s crucial for the company’s data strategy, providing insights for better decisions and business outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Objective: Drive Data-Driven Insights and Innovation in Tech Key Results:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing various datasets from diverse sources to facilitate analysis and decision-making processes.
- Contribute to exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and correlations that can inform product development, marketing strategies, or operational improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions, such as predictive models, recommendation systems, or optimization algorithms.
- Support the creation of data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development in data analytics tools, programming languages, and emerging technologies relevant to the tech industry.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s program in fields like Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
Experience:
- Typically ranges from entry-level to some prior experience with relevant coursework or projects. A foundational understanding of data analysis concepts and programming languages is beneficial. Internship experience or relevant projects are an added advantage.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, SQL, knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis, data visualization skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication, attention to detail, and adaptability.
Personal Attributes:
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, combined with a passion for continuous learning and staying updated on emerging technologies.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to foster collaboration, encourages innovation, provides access to cutting-edge technologies, and supports a balance between autonomy and teamwork.
