Job Position: Database Administrator
Job Location: Yaba, Lagos
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain SQL Server and MYSQL databases from development through production environments.
- Configure and monitor database servers to ensure peak performance, availability, and security.
- Implement data modelling techniques to support integration and performance goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly and effectively.
- Automate routine tasks and document changes to streamline processes.
- Assist with query optimization and schema design to enhance system performance.
- Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployments outside regular hours.
Job Requirements
- A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server and other database management systems.
- 3+ years of experience in database administration with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server(compulsory)
- Experience in the fintech industry is a major requirement.
Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and MYSQL administration.
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using SQL Server tools.
- Proficient in backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA), Database Replication configuration and Disaster Recovery (DR) for SQL Server and MYSQL.
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and switching between activities efficiently.
