Job Position: Design Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

  • As a Design Mechanical Engineer who is specialized in VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) and HVAC systems, you will be responsible for the design, planning, and development of efficient climate control systems.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, energy efficiency, and coordination with other engineering disciplines.

Job Responsibilities
Design and Engineering of VRF and HVAC Systems:

  • Develop detailed designs for VRF and HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Perform load calculations, heat transfer analysis, and airflow design to meet project requirements.
  • Use design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or specialized HVAC design tools to create schematic designs and layouts.

System Integration and Coordination:

  • Ensure seamless integration of VRF systems with other building services, such as electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate with other MEP disciplines, architects, and contractors to ensure that the mechanical designs are compatible with overall building architecture and construction.

Equipment Selection:

  • Select appropriate HVAC and VRF equipment, such as indoor/outdoor units, compressors, heat exchangers, and ductwork.
  • Consider energy efficiency, cost, and compatibility with the building’s mechanical systems during equipment selection.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:

  • Design energy-efficient VRF and HVAC systems that meet environmental standards and energy codes (such as LEED or ASHRAE).
  • Focus on reducing the building’s overall energy consumption and carbon footprint through innovative and sustainable design solutions.

Load Calculation and Simulation:

  • Conduct cooling and heating load calculations for various building zones to ensure proper system sizing and distribution.
  • Perform energy modeling and simulations to predict system performance under different conditions and ensure compliance with energy codes.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and system layouts.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes, and energy efficiency standards).
  • Submit designs for approvals and coordinate with authorities to ensure compliance with regulations.

Project Management Support:

  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure designs are implemented correctly on-site.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during installation, testing, and commissioning of VRF and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor the progress of HVAC system installations and resolve any technical issues.

Troubleshooting and Optimization:

  • Assist in the troubleshooting of VRF and HVAC systems during installation and commissioning to ensure they operate as designed.
  • Provide recommendations for system upgrades or adjustments to improve efficiency and performance.
