Job Position: DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Lagos (Remote)

Job Description

  1. A DevOps engineer’s roles and responsibilities are a combination of technical and management roles.
  2. It is essential to have excellent communication and coordination skills to successfully integrate various functions in a coordinated manner and deliver the responsibilities to the customer’s satisfaction.
  3. Your responsibilities are multi-prong – you need to be agile enough to wear a technical hat and manage operations simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Managing infrastructure as code, with a Software Engineering mindset.
  2. Developing code pipelines for deployment
  3. Empowering the software development teams to be self-sufficient
  4. Comfortable with the use of Docker & Kubernetes
  5. Automate configuration and extend platform services.
  6. Designing and building distributed systems for reliability and security.
  7. Implementing cloud-native solutions to provide observability for the platform and the services that run within it.

Job Requirements

  1. Proficiency in AWS preferably with and will have robust knowledge of managing multiple environments.
  2. Strong understanding of monitoring tools such as New Relic / Honeycomb / Datadog
  3. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD).
  4. Knowledge of security and platform protection systems such as Sentry, Crowdstrike
  5. Familiarity with database systems and SQL for data validation.
  6. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  8. Agile development experience is a plus.
