Job Position: DevOps Engineer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  1. The DevOps Engineer will bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, and to ensure that the development, testing, and deployment of software applications are done in a seamless and efficient manner.
  2. Also responsible for automating software delivery, managing infrastructure, monitoring performance, and ensuring the overall reliability and security of the software system.
  3. Their ultimate goal is to enable faster, more frequent and more reliable releases of software products, while maintaining the highest level of quality and security.

Deliverables / KPIs:

  1. Deliverables Automated deployment and configuration management systems for network devices and servers
  2. Infrastructure as code templates and scripts
  3. Continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for software applications and network services
  4. Automated testing, including functional, integration, and performance testing.
  5. Monitoring and alerting systems for network and server infrastructure, as well as software applications and services
  6. Incident management processes and procedures
  7. Documentation on network and server
  8. configurations, application architecture, and deployment processes
  9. Collaborative culture and processes between network, system, and software engineers
  10. KPI Network uptime and availability
  11. Mean time to resolve incidents
  12. Mean time between failures
  13. Speed and frequency of deployments
  14. Deployment success rate
  15. Automated test coverage and pass rate
  16. Infrastructure cost optimization
  17. Mean time to recovery (MTTR) from incidents or outages

Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications & Functional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electronics Engineering, Communications or related field. (2.2/
  • Upper Credit Minimum)

Work Experience:

  1. Minimum of 3 years work experience.
  2. Strong knowledge of software development processes, methodologies, and tools, as well as IT operations and infrastructure management
  3. Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins
  4. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  5. Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  6. Familiarity with networking and network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  7. Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
  8. Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
  9. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, and ELK
  10. Knowledge of security and compliance best practices and tools
  11. Experience with agile methodologies and collaborative development processes
