Job Description

1. We seek an experienced Driller to join our Dangote Cement Okpella Plant team. As a Driller, you will be responsible for operating drilling equipment to bore blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries.
2. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the drilling machines, adhere to safety procedures, and achieve target penetration rates.

Job Responsibilities

1. Operate drilling machines to bore blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries
2. Conduct pre-start inspections to identify maintenance or repair requirements
3. Ensure the safe and reliable operation of drilling equipment
4. Inspect and maintain drill bits, rods, and other drilling tools
5. Participate in blasting-related activities, such as collecting drilling samples and loading explosives
6. Collaborate with maintenance personnel for equipment maintenance and repair
7. Complete necessary documentation, such as performance sheets and logbooks
8. Comply with safety and environmental requirements

Job Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating drilling equipment
3. Knowledge of drilling techniques and equipment
4. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documents
5. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
