Job Description
- We are looking for an Electrical Shift In Charge Power Plant to join our team at Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc. As an Electrical Shift In Charge Power Plant, he/she will be accountable for the Operation & Maintenance of Power Plant.
Job Responsibilities
- Be proactive in identifying and reporting equipment faults and taking steps to resolve them.
- Perform all assigned tasks promptly and professionally.
- Take responsibility for overall plant operations during shift.
- Ensure that all activities in the plant are conducted safely and efficiently, following the approved standard operating procedures.
- Maintain and supervise all equipment in the plant to achieve the targeted power generation.
- Keep records of equipment failures and take necessary corrective actions.
- Plan and execute assigned jobs in the plant sections to ensure smooth operation.
- Maintain open communication with staff members regarding service-related matters.
- Report any electrical equipment complications to the Electrical in charge of the Power Plant.
- Manage and provide leadership to tradespeople during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs during operation and maintenance.
- Plan and execute the power plant maintenance program during the off-crop period.
- Identify training needs for subordinates and schedule regular training sessions accordingly.
- Maintain safety in all operational activities.
Job Requirements
- Applicants must possess at least a B-Tech/BE/BSc/HND in Electrical Engineering, along with a competency certificate.
- Preferred qualifications include a Certificate in Boiler Operating Engineers (BOE).
- Applicants should also have COREN, NSE, or any related professional qualification.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in any Power Plant is required. Experience in a Bagasse Based Power plant is an added advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Travelling Grate Boiler using Bagasse as Fuel is essential. The Boiler should have a minimum pressure rating of 87 bar.
- Experience in Back Pressure & Condensing Turbines, as well as in Fuel/Ash Handling System, is required.
- Applicants must be well-versed in Boiler/Turbine/HT & LT panels power distribution systems/DCS Automation Operation.
- Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are necessary.
