Job Description

  1. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overall Engineering activities across all sites of the company, ensuring the maximum availability of the plant by implementing the best maintenance practices.
  2. He will report functionally to the VP-Engineering with a dotted line reporting to the Plant Managers of Feed mill & Soy Crush plant.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Providing technical support to the onsite engineering team as and when required
  2. Ensure safety compliance at all sites.
  3. Develop departmental goals and strategies.
  4. Implement effective Preventive and predictive maintenance for maximum equipment availability.
  5. Achieve all KPI targets like Power, steam and R&M cost. Improve OEE, MTTR and MTBF
  6. Manage engineering store and inventory of engineering spares & consumables.
  7. Good knowledge of project management, planning, negotiations with sound commercial judgement, able to set priorities.
  8. Good knowledge on plant utilities like steam boiler, air compressor, Genset, water treatment plant, fire protection system etc.
  9. Basic knowledge in electrical and instrumentation (for candidate with mechanical background)
  10. Proven leadership and management skills with ability to develop a competent maintenance team.
  11. Prepare maintenance budget, capex proposals. Take the ownership of maintenance cost.
  12. Leading daily morning meetings and ensure RCAs are done for any downtime happened on a day today basis.
  13. Work closely with the procurement team for establishing annual maintenance contracts to agree on service, delivery timelines, price and performance requirements for those equipment’s wherever applicable.
  14. Work with procurement team for alternate/local vendor development

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) with 10-15 years of maintenance experience in large manufacturing facility.
  2. Out of which 2 to 3 years as head department head.
