Job Position: Entry Level Quantity Surveyor
Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  1. Construction Company seeks to recruit an Entry Level Quantity Surveyor who would assist in supervising, managing and planning all costs associated with all types of construction projects, from outset until completion.
  2. Assist in maximising project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management and reporting and preparation of a bill of quantities.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
  2. Perform risk and value management, as well as cost control.
  3. Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
  4. Value completed work and arranged payments.
  5. Certify works completed by the contractor; assess changes and document variation orders, and carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales final accounts.
  6. Undertake cost analysis for the repair and maintenance project work.
  7. Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations.
  8. Assist in the preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets.
  9. Assist in monitoring site resources usage against the budget
  10. Support the Tender Preparation Team in the preparation of Bill of Quantities, costing for tenders, schedule of works, specifications and all contract documentation.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ post NYSC in-depth experience of Quantity Surveying work, associated procedures and practices.
  3. Be a Registered Quantity Surveyor with NIQS/QSRBN.
  4. A professional approach which generates credibility and confidence in others.
  5. The ability to work in partnership/lead a team and across boundaries to achieve results.
  6. Ability to cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines.
  7. A personal commitment to continuous self-development.
