Job Position: Executive Assistant to the Managing Director (Legal background)

Job Description

  1. As the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the MD while leveraging your unique background in law and HR.
  2. Your responsibilities will encompass executive support, legal assistance and strategic planning.
  3. You will be the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Managing Director’s office.
  4. This role demands exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of legal matters and human resources.

John Responsibilities

  1. Executive Support: Provide high-level administrative support to the Managing Director, including managing their schedule, coordinating travel, and handling correspondence.
  2. Legal Assistance: Assist in legal matters, such as reviewing contracts, legal documents, and compliance issues, and liaise with the legal department as needed.
  3. HR Coordination: Collaborate with the HR department on matters like recruitment, employee relations, and policy implementation, applying your HR expertise.
  4. Meeting Management: Plan and organize executive meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  5. Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with HR best practices.
  6. Strategic Planning: Assist in strategic planning, research, and analysis, providing recommendations on key initiatives and projects.
  7. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships on behalf of the Managing Director.
  8. Document Management: Oversee the organization and management of confidential and sensitive documents, legal records, and HR files.
  9. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts, issues, or inquiries related to legal or HR matters within the organization.
  10. Budget Management: Assist in managing the budget for the executive office, tracking expenses, and optimizing cost efficiencies.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a related field.
  2. Substantial experience in HR roles with expertise in HR best practices and law.
  3. Proven experience in providing executive-level support.
  4. Knowledge of legal matters, contract review, and compliance.
  5. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  8. Proficiency in office software and legal/HR software tools.
  9. Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.


  • N200,000 – N300,000 monthly Net.
