Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic, strategic, and execution-focused Executive Director to work alongside the Managing Director in driving business development, operational excellence, and digital innovation at a licensed microfinance bank, which is part of a reputable and diversified financial services group.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in banking operations, digital financial services, and deposit mobilisation.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the bank’s growth mandate within the group’s broader vision, translating strategy into measurable outcomes and fostering innovation across key functions.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Managing Director to execute the Bank’s strategic and operational plans in line with the vision and objectives of the Board and the broader goals of the Group.
  2. Drive client acquisition and deposit mobilisation through relationship-building, partnerships, and targeted market engagement.
  3. Lead the rollout of digital initiatives and partnerships that enhance customer experience, drive process efficiency, and position the Bank competitively within the Group’s digital transformation agenda.
  4. Oversee day-to-day banking operations to ensure service excellence, process discipline, and cost optimisation across branches and digital channels.
  5. Ensure full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and group-level governance frameworks, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  6. Contribute to the design and launch of innovative financial products and delivery channels that meet the evolving needs of MSMEs and individual clients.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Postgraduate qualification or professional certifications (e.g., CIBN, MBA, ACCA) are an added advantage
  3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 3 years in a leadership or executive role.
  4. Track record of deposit mobilisation and strong understanding of digital financial services.
  5. Solid operational background with a deep knowledge of credit, risk, and regulatory frameworks.
  6. Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
