Value Edge Management Service Limited – Our client, a Facility Management Company, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Facility Maintenance Technician

Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Responsibilities

  1. Our Facilities Maintenance Technician will assist the Facilities department to deliver the services required to support the business.
  2. Respond to and attend to clients’ repair requests.
  3. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
  4. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, tester). Identify, locate and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  5. Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  6. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and/or general building.
  7. Perform all surface preparation, light bulb, and A/C filter replacement
  8. Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing e.g plunge the toilet and unclog drain), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets.
  9. Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of Trade Test, ND Electrical / Electronics Engineering
  2. Previous experience working in an Estate facility Maintenance accompany or similar environment (preferred).
  3. Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  4. Innovative
  5. Pro-active and reliable
  6. Practical maintenance experience
  7. Able to work alone and within a team
  8. Health & Safety
  9. Experience in fault finding;
  10. Experience in managing and monitoring contractors;
  11. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, word, and outlook);
  12. Experience in plant and pool maintenance;
  13. The ability to prepare and submit correspondence and reports.
